Color Profiling

The Canon iX-3200 has the capability to profile your corporate PMS colors to print consistently across different substrates. First, the color is selected in the press’s library of Pantone colors and a hex chart is printed. This chart will show what the library thinks the correct CMYK mix of the Pantone color is, as well as alternate mixes to choose from. The most similar color is identified, taking into account factors like hue, saturation, and brightness.

Once the best match is determined, the formula is saved as the profile and used each time a file indicates the PMS color. This process ensures that the color will be the same every time it is printed.
